Stadiem worked in the S & G Men's Store and in real estate. He was smart but shy. During World War II, he served as an MP guarding German soldiers. He was always dependable and supportive. When younger, he loved sports.

Rabbi Steven Sager remembers that he always gave nice contributions to the synagogue. The Stadiems lived near the old synagogue and were always available for a minyan.
