Ben Segal 3/15/1916-3/6/1994
Ben was an always a gentleman, according to his step-daughter, Eileen. He and his stepson-in-law owned and operated a tobacco store, B and G Pipe Shop. The store was open seven days a week 365 days a year.
He was married to May Segal in June 24, 1961 in the sanctuary of Beth El Synagogue officiated by Rabbi Herbert Berger.
Even though no children came of that union, Eileen and her children thought of him as her, dad and their grandfather. Eileen’s grandchild, Gilad Reuvan, Benjamin was named after his two grandfathers and Ben, his step-great-grandfather.
Ben is buried in the Hebrew Cemetery in Durham, North Carolina.
