Name: Jacob Zuckerman d. 6/29/1925 age 32
Family: Wife, Ethel
Zuckerman was from Dvinsk, Latvia. He was a businessman in downtown Durham, taking over the furrier business when his father died. Eli Evans remembers that everyone called him "Yankee," likely a nickname similar to his Yiddish name Yankel. "He had a dusty fox fur in the window that had real teeth and beady eyes scowling from a fuzzy head," said Evans. "It felt alive when I petted it." He later shut his furrier store and moved to Dayton.
