Isaac Ornoff 11/15/1888-8/01/1974 Isaac and his future wife, Rebecca, grew up in Lithuania. They married in Virginia around 1909. Coming to Durham in 1919 bringing with them their five children.
Isaac was a devoted family man as well as a very devoted member of Beth El Synagogue. He and his wife, Rebecca, were very active in the synagogue. Isaac was at one time served as president of Beth El Synagogue. On his and Rebecca’s 60th wedding anniversary they donated the gates in the sanctuary which are still very much in wonderful use. He was involved in synagogue affairs and was involved in establishing the synagogue on Watts Street and Markham Avenue.
Isaac is buried in the Hebrew Cemetery in Durham, North Carolina.
